9/11: Pray for Peace and for America's Troops

I was sitting reading the newspapers today at the boardwalk as dusk approached. I saw a large group of Army men and women running down the boardwalk fronted by two leaders carrying a huge American flag. As the runners passed I thought about how much bravery is required to join the Army now with our country at war.

The troops were singing Army songs loudly as they ran. They looked so strong it gave me a feeling of security that even in these turbulent times there are still young people brave and patriotic enough to serve to protect our country.

The troops running by were involved in a ceremony behind where I was parked at the 9/11 memorial earlier. I could hear a long list of names being read aloud of all those from Monmouth county killed on 9/11. The memorial overlooks the beach and is such a bucolic spot. Every time I pass it I think about the people murdered on 9/11 and I wonder where Osama Bin Laden is.
